House of Fallen “Three tales…one ancient evil.”House of Fallen describes the tales of a shadowy group known as The Twelve, whose mission is to destroy the fallen angels who still walk among us. It’s a classic and timeless tale of good versus evil. The film also features heavy doses of ancient prophecy and mystery and recurring elements of horror, action, and violence. The film is divided into three tales that intertwine and enrich each other. Tale 1“How could Brian possibly know that?” Thomas (C Thomas Howell “Outsiders” “Red Dawn”) silently asked himself. Thomas wanted to leave the man’s house badly. But how could he now after what he had just heard? Wasn’t he compelled to stay and learn the secret of this man’s ability? What had he gotten himself into?Thomas had come to visit Brian (Marc Gable) at the request of his best friend, Dr. Mara Park (Felicia Dames), a noted psychiatrist in the area. Mara had reluctantly approached Thomas for help, “reluctantly” being the key word. After all, it was not everyday that a psychiatrist of Mara’s reputation came to believe her patient was possessed. Possessed by what, she did not know. But how else could she explain Brian’s ability to read her mind and the minds of others who had seen him? She had come to Thomas because he was an ex-priest and she thought he would certainly know more about the demonically possessed than she did.Now Thomas sat face to face with Brian, and he was witnessing first-hand the terrifying experience of having someone reach deep into your own mind and see your darkest secrets that you prayed would never see the light of day.Later, Thomas will be further shaken when he is approached by an old man named McCarran (Richard Fullerton “Cabin Fever), who claims to be the leader of a group known as The Twelve. According to McCarran, The Twelve are at war with The Watchers, fallen angels who walk the earth and plot for mankind’s demise.McCarran tells him that Brian is possessed by one of these Watchers and that Thomas’ encounter with this man and this demon is no accident. Tale 2Brooks (William Gregory Lee “Dark Angel” “Dante’s Cove”) thought he had seen it all. As a member of The Twelve, he knew the world was far more complex than it appeared to be. After all, he was a soldier on the front lines of the ongoing war between Heaven and Hell, a war that was all too often waged on Earth. But Rowland (Corbin Bernsen “Major League,” LA Law” “Psych”), the man who now stood in front of him, promised to turn his world upside down. Rowland takes Brooks to the Library of The Twelve, a vast archive that holds ancient scrolls and books that detail The Twelve’s dealings with The Watchers. Why didn’t Brooks know of this place before? What reasons would McCarran have for keeping these records and this man a secret from him?As Rowland reveals many of Heaven’s secrets to him, Brooks soon realizes that no one, not even himself, is exactly who they appear to be.Tale 3There is no such thing as the perfect crime, Shawn (Sandra Simpson) thought. She needed look no further than at her feet to know that. Tim DeHart (Ken Arnold) lay dying on the dirty floor of the abandoned mansion, a vicious gunshot wound to the stomach. Blood was everywhere and it would not stop flowing. One of the others in her gang had urged her to take him to the hospital. But how could she do that and not jeopardize everything they had fought for? She bent down on her knees and covered DeHart’s nose and mouth with her hands. It was best this way. He didn’t stand a chance and wasn’t it better to relieve the agony he must now be feeling? After all, you would put an injured dog to sleep, and DeHart certainly ranked higher than a dog, although just barely.Shawn walked out of the room and found the five surviving members of the group staring at her. Some were angry. Some frightened. None knew what to do. Did the decisions now fall to her? DeHart had been their leader and she had been his woman. Did that make her second in command? Was there even such a thing with them? Did it even matter? She looked over to the large green duffel bag sitting on the chair in the corner. Its contents represented a new life for her, for all of them. There could be nothing that would stand in their way now. Then DeHart’s younger brother Ben (Jayce O’Neal) makes a gruesome discovery. In an upstairs bedroom, he finds a corpse, and judging by its state, it’s been there a long time. While they are in the bedroom, DeHart’s body disappears, along with the bag full of money. The mansion is not abandoned after all. But who is in the house with them and why did they take DeHart’s body? Throughout the night, the five members of the group are picked off, one by one. Everyone is terrified. But no one is willing to go without the stolen riches.
