The Japanese government, due to its underworld ties, has outlawed Tebori tattoos. For the first time ever, viewers will be able to see the small and secret society of the Horitoshi Family, as well as their rich culture, exotic land, the history and mythology of Japanese tattooing. While in Tokyo, Barth participates in underground festivals, rituals and gets tattooed on camera. Barth has gained much respect from the Horitoshi Family throughout his career and is the only Westerner welcomed to immerse into this highly guarded world, which until now, the average person would have zero access. It is only through Barth's accomplishments and stellar reputation that the viewer is given the key to this veiled community.
